Bringing Humanitarian Aid to Children Worldwide

On a past trip we visited a children's hospital in Havana, which delivered simple and complicated acute and chronic care to newborns as well as teenagers. There was a pediatric ICU and many operating rooms. The entire building of four or five floors housed many inpatient specialty and general beds, and numerous outpatient clinics were equipped with only one oximeter and half a dozen blood pressure cuffs. We could regale you with stories of even greater need, but suffice it to say there are dire needs for equipment, books, journals and medications.

Surely Cuba is not alone. Many countries have such needs. We in America live in abundance. Its easy to forget that so many countries do not. While in Cuba, we saw a "typical Family Practice examination clinic where a 60-watt light bulb screwed into a four-foot stand was, according to the doctor, "the only light we have for every hole in the body"! The only otoscope was the one we brought.... and left behind. Why exaggerate the need when the truth will make your heart cry out: HOW CAN I HELP?

Join us in our mission at Kids Care. We won't ask the language spoken or the type of government or the faith professed: we will simply serve to fill the need. Someone asked if the doctors, nurses, or other healthcare providers had to be of a specific religion or faith. Our answer was a question: "If the clothes you are wearing or the house you are in is on fire, would you inquire as to the faith of the person pointing the life saving water towards you?" We have the water. We invite you to join us in providing it. Join Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist and Hare Krishna doctors and other healthcare professionals. The children need us. They are calling. Kids Careis an answer to the call.

Kids Care is a 501C3-qualified organization created to facilitate bringing quality medical care to children all over the world. The criterion for assistance is simple: need. They need. We provide. We are encouraging health care providers of all types to join us for trips to Cuba, Russia, India, Lebanon and Afghanistan, and expanding over the world.

Kids Care was born when the Iron Curtain became a window of opportunity. In Eastern Europe alone, especially Russia and Romania, thousands of Americans brought multiple millions of dollars in medical and humanitarian aid and hope to the people suffering under the crumbling chaos of these post-socialist nation.
